Right To Life

The Knights of Columbus have always been staunch supporters of the right to life. Lafayette Council 514 joins with other knights and their families, and other supporters in January each year to march on Washington on the anniversary of the Roe VS Wade decision. Join us so we can make our voices heard and fight what Pope John Paul II called the "culture of death". Each year we collect donations to pay for the bus to Washington and to support efforts to help those who might be affected by the "culture of death".

Our annual collection for Right to Life initiatives is the one where we hand out the embroidered rose stickers. The rose is the symbol of life.

Throughout the year we partake in other initiatives to keep informed of legislation and other developments and to contact our representatives.

There is a great deal of misinformation and incomplete information in the media concerning abortion, euthanasia, and stem cell research. As an example, both adult and embroyonic stem cell research are often lumped together when in fact there are important differences. We must all work together to know the facts and help others know them as well.
